Grove Farm Junior Football Club welcomes enquiries from any person wishing to play for the club.
We also welcome enquiries from qualified coaches who would like to join the club or perhaps you have recently given up playing and are looking for a very worthwhile pastime connected with football. You will be expected to complete an enhanced C.R.B check and attend a Level 1 F.A Coaching certficate course if not already qualified. ( This is paid for by the club on the understanding you will commit to the club for two years).
Please use the E-form below or ring Steve Barker , whose number can be found on About the club page.
In order to inform you about the club, we've put together some frequently asked questions which we hope tells you a bit about Grove Farm JFC

What is Grove Farm Junior Football Club?

Grove Farm J.F.C was formed more than 30 years ago and is based predominantly in the Stockingford area of Nuneaton. We don't have a club building as such but all meetings , at present, are held at the Windmill Sports and social club, Mancetter Road Nuneaton usually monthly. The teams train at a number of venues including Stockingford Junior school, Tomkinson Road rec and Jubilee fields.  Grove Farm encourage parents and other family members to take a full part in supporting their child. Apart from attending matches , anyone whose child is a member of the club is welcome to attend the club meetings. The club holds an annual six a side tournament usually at the end of May during which upwards of 100 teams play over a two day period. These come predominantly from across the Nuneaton, Bedworth and Coventry areas.
The club holds two major gatherings a year. The first being the teams Christmas party, where there is usually a disco laid on for the children and each team member recieves a small gift. The second is the club presentation evening where each member recieves a trophy from the club. There are also special awards for most improved player, supporters player, players player and managers player of the year. The evening is rounded off with a disco and is enjoyed by all concerned.

Are the managers qualified?

All Grove Farm managers hold the F.A Level one certificate in coaching football. They have also attended The F.A Emergency Aid course and The F.A Child Protection Workshop. In addition it is a requirement of the Nuneaton and Bedowrth League that managers are checked to the enhanced level with the Criminal Records Bureau.

Will my child play competitive football straight away?

Under sevens do not play in  league competitions but managers may arrange friendly matches with other local teams. From age 8 , the clubs teams play in the Nuneaton and Bedworth Mini League. Matches are held on Sunday mornings. The team can consist of up to ten players, seven of whom will be on the pitch at anyone time. Mini soccer is a simplified version of the full adult game. For instance all free kicks are direct and there are no offsides and is a fantastic way to introduce the younger child to football. From age 10/11 ( year 6) the teams move up to minor football and play under full F.A rules at eleven a side, usually on Sunday afternoons. In addition to the League, from under 9's onwards, the teams take part in the Police Cup which is a knockout competition, the finalists of which play at the Borough ground.

How much will it cost?

At present Club subs are £14 per month during the playing season ( usually September - April). This goes to the running of the teams paying for items such as training and match balls, pitch fees, refs fees, league regestration fees etc. The club holds a bonus ball competition which is held weekly where the winner receives £10 (see club news). From May - August the teams usually pay a training fee (around £1 per week). This goes into the team pot, run by the manager, and can be used for training equipment or team social events such as bowling etc.

Do I have to provide my childs kit

The club provides the teams playing kit. All you have to provide is shin pads and boots ( and a sweatshirt for the colder weather). This is included in the £14 per month subs.
