Grove Farm Junior Football Club is based in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. The club has
been established for thirty years and is one of the oldest in the town. The club was
started by Graham Baxter, to provide footballing opportunities for boys in the town
and became, through Grahams hard work, the club to belong to. Graham eventually
became one of the founder members of the Nuneaton and Bedworth Minor League
which has now grown to its largest size this year with approximately 140 teams
partcipating in the league and cup competitions. Unfortuantley Graham is no longer with
us but his contribution to the club is celebrated each year at the Club presentation
evening with the award of the Graham Baxter Memorial Trophy to the team which, in
the opinion of the committee, has achieved the most for the club not only in terms of
winning but also by supporting the club throughout the year and enhancing the
prominence/standing of the club. The award is invariable presented by Grahams wife,
Margaret and is keenly sought by all the teams. The club went from strength to strength
and had a number of successes in the league. A number of teams participated in
exchange visits with teams from Rouanne in France and from Holland
Over recent years the club has reduced in size, primarily due to the emergence of new
clubs in the town however the club still has a good team base and , due to new teams and
players joining us this season, the club now fields eight teams playing in the Nuneaton
and Bedworth mini/minor leagues and the Coventry Minor League.
Grove Farm prides itself on being an open and family orientated club and encourages
parents and supporters to attend club meetings and to take an active part in club
proceedings and events.
